A ‘Workshop on Leadership Attributes’ was conducted on 12th December 2022 at WR-1-HQs, Mumbai, for senior leaders (HOPs, HOHRs, and other senior executives) of Western Region – 1 and Hydro Region. This Workshop was conducted in association with SHRM India with the objective of building awareness, momentum and understanding of the Gold and Unacceptable Standards of the four Leadership attributes (Ownership, Speed, Empowerment/risk taking, Growth) identified as part of the exercise towards ‘Corporate Restructuring of NTPC’ and for ‘Strengthening of NTPC’s Performance Culture’.

The workshop was inaugurated by Sh. Subrata Mandal, Regional Executive Director (Western Region-1).

Shri Milan Kumar, CGM(HR), WR-1-HQs, informed the participants about the purpose of the workshop and requested all the senior leaders to contribute towards the cascading of the four leadership attributes at their respective sites.

Shri Subrata Mandal, Regional Executive Director (WR-1), in his address shared with the participants that the contemporary business environment was about “Perform or Perish”. He stressed on the importance of being agile and flexible to deal with the contradictions present in today’s world.

Shri Sebastian Joseph, Executive Director (HR), in his address stated that the four Leadership attributes (Ownership, Speed, Empowerment/risk taking and Growth) are required to be displayed by executives across the organization so that NTPC can meet the various challenges of the VUCA age. He also shared with the participants the key HR Initiatives in the areas of PMS, Career Management, Recruitment, Manpower Planning, along with the highlights of the proposed change in Promotion Policy for Executives and key features of the proposed “NTPC Specialist Cadre Policy”.
